The Murdock River offers some of the best fishing around. Bass, Pike, Pickerel, Musky, and Perch are all available in the waterways of the French River area.
Entering the waterway is a breeze using the small boat launch on our property. Alternatively, there is a public boat launch across the road, entering into the French River.
Minnows, leeches, worms and fishing supplies are available for purchase in our General Store. In addition, watercraft rentals are available on an hourly, half day and full day basis.
“Had an excellent time this weekend at Great Escape Cabins! Mike & Caitland were very friendly & welcoming. Also caught the biggest bass of my life in the Murdock river. Will be back!”

Our fishing guide, Adam Robinson, grew up in the French River. His extensive knowledge of the waterways and where to find a specific species guarantees a fun day out catching “the big one”. Adam’s passion is musky fishing, catching a huge 50″ during a trip with Bill Hamblin, author of 120 days.
Adam’s Package: full day fishing in 22′ Tournament boat, with a 250 engine and 15 kicker. Bait, rods and reels are all supplied. Any fish caught throughout the day are cleaned by Adam before heading back to the cabins.
