Fishing from shore, the docks, or renting one of our fishing boats, are all options for reeling in the big one! The Murdock River is renowned for offering an exceptional fishing experience. Anglers can reel in Bass, Pike, Perch, Crappie, and even Pickerel. Our small boat launch allows guests ample opportunities to explore.
Looking for other options to access the lower French River?
During the summer months, the Murdock River at Great Escape Cabins becomes landlocked from the main French River due to the controlled dam system and seasonal water levels. This means boats launched from our property cannot travel directly from the Murdock River into the French River during this time.
Guests can still enjoy fishing and boating on the Murdock River directly from our property. For those wishing to explore the Lower French River, a free public boat launch is conveniently located directly across the road, with additional launching facilities available at French River Supply Post & Marina.
As an authorized license issuer for MNRF, we offer convenient access to fishing and hunting licenses, tags, and renewals. Additionally, our General Store offers a variety of fishing supplies for purchase and watercraft rentals available for half or full-day adventures.
