Great Escape Cabins French River Resort
Providing our guests with an undisturbed waterfront view, Great Escape Cabins is sure to bring you the vacation of your dreams! Surrounded by majestic pines, wildlife and awe-inspiring sunsets, we are your premiere vacation resort.
We are a short 3.5 hour drive Northwest of Toronto, away from all the hustle and bustle of life. Wake up to the sound of loons and get comfy in an Adirondack chair. Enjoy the view alongside that morning coffee. There’s no better way to start the day while on vacation in the North!
There are a multitude of opportunities both on and off resort. From fishing and canoeing, to snowmobiling and ice fishing. We have something memorable for each season!
At the end of a busy day, cozy up by the community campfire and enjoy a s’more. Reminisce about the day’s events while listening to the crickets, and gazing at the stars. Be sure to learn more on our Adventure pages.
We are conveniently located just outside the village of Alban, Ontario and are only a short drive to many restaurants, golf courses, and tourist attractions, including the French River Vistor’s Centre. Also, the grocery store, gas station, LCBO and Beer Store are all within a 5 – 15 min drive.
Our General Store onsite offers those forgotten items. For instance, snacks, fishing supplies, watercraft rentals and live bait. We also offer DVD’s, books and board games to borrow. For more information on what we carry, please visit our General Store page.
“Home away from home” describes Great Escape Cabins perfectly. Not only are these rustic cabins equipped fully for anything you need on a getaway, but Caitland and Mike genuinely treat you like extended family.
The cabins are clean, homey, and super comfortable. They’re situated central to so many places: Killarney, French River and Grundy Lake Provincial Parks, for starters. At the site, there’s fishing and rentals to take out on the water.
Caitland and Mike will go out of their way to get to know you, help you plan your travels, and offer advice on whatever you’re in the area for. Evenings can be spent with the family around the fire pit, sharing s’mores and stories.
